Boonie Mayfield’s “Haterade” is a rambunctious satire based on negativity and criticism often directed at hip-hop artists that succeed beyond the limits of others’ expectations. In a stream of consciousness, Boonie pulls no punches as he imitates internet trolls, critics and nostalgic fans resisting change in the ever-evolving landscape of music.

The blues-driven sound was inspired by Delta Rae’s “Bottom of the River” and merged with the massive feel of big-beat hits like Kanye’s “Jesus Walks” and Jay-Z’s “99 Problems”.
